Updates
For reasons that should become apparent
(reference Update #2), I’m writing short these days.
Somebody Else’s Robin
In my disoriented
state, I misunderstood dear Girlfriend when she told me where she found the
KO’d robin. It was behind our block,
which means someone else’s nest is empty and our birds were simply on their
honeymoon. (Robins do take off for 3
days after they build their nest.
Perhaps they take a quickie trip to Vegas?).
Anyway, we’ve
got three light blue eggs and one uptight mother on our porch. I suppose I should be feeling some
moral/compassionate dilemma, about the unknown dead bird. Instead, I cannot help but get a little
hopeful about our porch-guests, despite my efforts to remind myself of tragic
cardinals past.
Famous!
You had to
listen closely to last night’s episode of Grey’s
Anatomy, but it was there—in the list of tests that Dr. Izzie Stevens ordered
for her patient (who ended up with just the flu), she included “RMSF”—Rocky
Mountain Spotted Fever (to those in the know)!
Turns out my illness also took a turn on House.
So here it is, my claim to fame.
I feel something like relief—no need to write that novel now, to fret
about ambition. I have made it to made
for TV!
